KU will host 70th Annual Structural Engineering Conference


LAWRENCE — On March 6, the Department of Civil, Environmental & Architectural Engineering within the University of Kansas School of Engineering will host experts in the field of structural engineering for a one-day conference exploring the latest developments in the field. 

“The Annual Structural Engineering Conference is an essential event for professionals to stay at the forefront of industry advancements,” said Jian Li, co-chair of the conference. “This year’s agenda covers critical topics such as local buckling in structural steel, climate change impacts on structural engineering and new developments in performance-based design, along with exciting signature projects in both the building and bridge industries.” 

The 70th Annual Structural Engineering Conference will run from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Kansas Union. Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. with opening remarks at 8:15 a.m.
