KU Dining kicks off the 2026-2027 academic school year with updated menus, specials

LAWRENCE — KU Dining is kicking off the 2026 fall semester with new changes and updates designed to enhance the dining experience for University of Kansas students, faculty and staff. Jayhawks can look forward to a variety of new features, including refreshed menus, limited-time offerings and new specials throughout the semester as well as expanded sustainability initiatives.

“We want to continue to create an environment of exceptional service and delicious quality food on campus,” said Lindsay Robinson, KU Dining director. “We are proud to say that with each new semester we are able to elevate our mission and expand our offerings in new ways, and this fall is no different.” 

New menu at Asian Kitchen

The Underground’s classic staple Asian Kitchen has updated its menu with new items such as Teriyaki Chicken (gluten free), Korean BBQ Pork Burnt Ends, Vegetable Spring Rolls and Lo Mein.  

KU Dining specials and limited-time offerings

Favorite Jayhawk specials from last year are returning this fall, including:  

Macchiato Monday: Get a venti macchiato for the price of a grandé at WPS Coffeehouse locations. (Offer not valid at J Café.)  

Taco Tuesday: Get a 3 Taco Platter for only $8.50 at Serrano’s inside the Market at the Kansas Union.  

Special coffee pricing: Get a venti frappuccino for the price of a grandé at The Coffeehouse WPS Starbucks locations. (Offer not valid at J Café.) 

Breakfast burritos: A new special will start this year at Courtside Café inside of DeBruce Center. Jayhawks can enjoy $5.99 breakfast burritos every Thursday, starting Aug. 27. 

Limited-time offers: The following items are available through Sept. 25: Black Bean and Cheese Quesadilla and Caprese Pie (The Market), Hawaiian Pie (The Underground) and Tropical Sorbet and Barbacoa (Courtside Café). 

Chick-Fil-A mobile app

The Chick-Fil-A mobile app can be used at the Chick-Fil-A inside the Kansas Union once it has reopened for fall. Students will be able to use their dining dollars exclusively through the Grubhub mobile app, and credit/debit payments can be processed through the Chick-Fil-A Mobile App and in store at the kiosk. 

Bamboo Cutlery

KU Dining has brought Better Earth bamboo utensils to all retail dining locations across the Lawrence campus in an effort to expand sustainability efforts.
