Audio-Reader to host donation drive at Fairlawn Plaza in Topeka to support benefit audio sale
TOPEKA — The Audio-Reader Network at the University of Kansas invites Topeka-area residents to donate gently used audio equipment and music items during an upcoming Donation Drive. The drive will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. June 30 at Fairlawn Plaza outside the Kiku Japanese Steak House entrance.
Audio-Reader seeks donations of stereo equipment, speakers, vinyl records, cassette tapes and musical instruments. These items will be resold during Audio-Reader’s popular Audio Sale coming up Sept. 11-13 at the Lawrence Public Library.
All sale proceeds directly support Audio-Reader’s mission.
“By donating audio equipment and vinyl records, community members are doing more than clearing out storage space. They are helping ensure that people who are blind, visually impaired or print-disabled can stay connected to the world around them,” says Meredith Johanning, assistant development director at Audio-Reader. “We’re grateful for every donation and the impact it has on the thousands of listeners we serve.”
